MAGNET Office: Layer Settings

  • Layer Settings – Shows the current MAGNET Office project’s layers.
  • To access go to View on the top menu bar and click the Layers button on the very left of the ribbon
  • Shows All Layer settings within the current MAGNET Office project.
  • Displays the layer’s default settings.
    • The default settings are what are referred to by using the “ByLayer” selection with the property bars and menus.
  • Shows the current active layer – the current active layer of the project.
    • This is not the same as the properties bar.
  • Layer List options
    • New – Create new layer
    • Edit – change the properties of an existing layer
    • Delete – deletes the selected layer
    • Delete Empty – deletes all empty layers including empty layers that may have been created.
    • Merge – combines the selected layers together
    • Set Current – changes the current layer to the user’s choosing
    • Invert On/Off – changes the status of the active layers and inactive layers. If the layer was on it will now be off. If the layer was turned off it will now be on.
    • Off/On – will turn on/off a layer
    • Select All – selects all layers
    • Invert Selection – will change the selection from what is currently selected to the opposite. The layers that were unselected will now be selected.
  • Prefix/Suffix – allows the user to apply a prefix or suffix to the currently selected layers
    • Beneficial while setting up a default project with layers.
    • Way to maintain the created layers and sort the data into a standard layer set.
  • List Layers – creates a report that shows a printable version of the layer list.
  • Layer Group Options
    • Add Group – Adds selected layers to a Layer Group
    • Select Group – Selects all the layers within the selected group within the layer list.
    • Group Settings – Brings up the layer group settings prompt.
  • Avoidance - creates areas to avoid for use in machine control models and layout models.
    • Will use the objects within the selected layer to create the areas of avoidance.
