Layer Control Group

  • The Layer Control Group is an important part of the model building workflow. This group will be used for sorting through data, as well as, keeping the Survey view manageable and less cluttered.
  • To access the Layer Control Group, click the View tab on the top menu bar of MAGNET Office.
  • The Layer Control Group will be directly under the View Tab.

Available Commands

  • Layer Off – this button command will turn off specific layers in two different ways.
    • If the Layer Off button is clicked while objects within the Survey view are selected, the layers containing those objects will be turned off.
    • If nothing is selected within the Survey view and the Layer Off button is clicked, the user can select layers to be turned off by clicking on objects of the layer wanting to be hidden. The command will continue until the user presses ESC
  • Isolate – the isolate command will only display a specific layer. There are two ways to isolate layers.
    • Select objects within the Survey view. Once the desired objects are selected, click the Isolate button. This will lead to the selected object’s layer to be displayed.
    • Click the Isolate button and select the desired object layer. This will display only one layer.
  • Restore – The command will bring back the layers that were hidden by using the Layer Off and Isolate functions
  • Set Layer – This function allows the user to set the current layer by selecting an object of the layer.
  • All On – Clicking this button will turn on all layers in the current MAGNET Office project.
  • All Off – Clicking this button will turn off all layers in the current MAGNET Office project, except for the current layer.
  • Groups – allows the user to sort layers in to different groups. The default groups in MAGNET Office are Design, Existing, and Misc.
