MAGNET Field: Import IFC models

IFC or Industry Foundation Classes is a standard for open BIM data exchange. This article explains how to import IFC models with MAGNET Field.

Exchange

To exchange data between the active job and files:

  1. Click Exchange from the Home screen.
  2. Click From File.

Import IFC model

Importing data From File allows you to import different data types from files of either predefined or custom formats. For IFC models:

  1. Select 3D Models from the Data drop-down list.
  2. Select IFC (*.ifc) from the Format drop-down list.
  3. Click Next.
  4. Browse the file path.
  5. Accept by clicking the green check mark.

IFC model imported

The IFC model is now successfully imported and ready to be used.
