To create a new site, tap on the Sitelink3D icon in the upper right.
Under the Sitelink3D menu, select New Site from the list.
There are four steps to the New Site Wizard.
- General: Name and location of the site (required).
- Site Type: Choose between basic and advanced options (required).
- Localization: Add a site localization from a *.TP3 or *.GC3 file, or upload a geoid file.
- Client Connectivity: Configure how client devices connect to the site. Admins can set site access keys and automatic discovery options to restrict access to the site.

In the New Site Wizard, specify the Site Name, Data Center, and Cell Size.
Cell size is for as-built tracking. The type of work performed on the site will determine the cell size:
- Small: Paving and/or curbing work with a typical operating speed between 4-16 km/h (2.5-10 mph)
- Medium: Bulk earth moving, paving, and compaction with a typical operating speed between 6-22 km/h (4-13.5 mph)
- Large: Hauling and large area management such as snow grooming, with a typical operating speed between 10-42 km/h (6-26 mph)
The Site Location details can be entered by hand or selected from the map using the pin icon to the right of the Longitude field.

By using the pin icon in Site Location, you can navigate around the map and left-click to drop a pin on the site's location.
Once the pin is dropped, a text field will appear in the upper right with the site's latitude and longitude. Hit the green check mark to accept the position or the red X to cancel.
Once the Site Location is specified, hit the blue Next button.

The next step will be to define the type of site you are making. The following options are available to select from:
Basic
- Pocket 3D (costs 2 service points per use)
- 3D-MC (costs 2 service points per use)
- Site remote support
- Real-time machine tracking
- Design file sync
- Working sets
Advanced
- Haul Truck mobile app (costs 4 service points per use)
- Pocket 3D (costs 4 service points per use)
- 3D-MC (costs 6 service points per use)
- RDS weighing (costs 4 service points per use)
- Site remote support
- Real-time machine tracking
- Design file sync
- Working sets
- Live statistic widgets
- Reporting
- As-built website mapping
Note: Once a site is upgraded to Advanced, it cannot be downgraded.
Once the site type is created, hit the blue Next button to continue or the green Complete button to finish setup.

The third step is to define the site's localization.
If a localization is used, the project's *.TP3 or *.GC3 file can be uploaded in the top box.
If a site uses a projection and geoid, the geoid file can be uploaded in the bottom box. The geoid file must also be copied onto each machine's /Topcon/3D-MC/ folder in the display.
Note: Geoid files MUST be uploaded in *.GFF format. For a walkthrough on converting geoid files from *.BIN to *.GFF, see this article.

Once the localization is loaded, hit the blue Next button to continue or the green Complete button to finish setup.

The final step is to set up the client connectivity.
By checking the first box, operators will be able to automatically "discover" a site, just by having the machine on it.
The Site Access Key is optional and allows a unique PIN to be created that allows access to the site for a predetermined duration.
The Site Contact Details are optional and would be the displayed contact information for the Sitelink3D site.
For example, by checking the discoverable checkbox and unchecking Site Access Key and Site Contact Details, a new machine arriving on the site will be able to join the site, just by searching for it in 3D-MC.
Once the client connectivity is configured, hit the blue Next button to continue or the green Complete button to finish setup.

The site is now complete. You can hit the green Complete button to return to the Sitelink3D map view.
