MAGNET Office: Corridors (part 3 of 6) - Create and manage corridor templates and side slopes

Creating and assigning the templates

Navigate to Corridor > Template Library.

A window will open with two tabs: Road and Side.

First, let's look at Road.

The convention here, highlighted in red, is a hierarchy (Global --> Project --> Corridor) in the same way all libraries operate in MAGNET Office.

In this example, a template file has been transferred from the global library into the corridor, highlighted in blue.

The template can be modified using the now-populated spreadsheet either by changing the element type (highlighted in green) or its numerical values, etc.

Creating and assigning the side slopes

Now click on the Side tab.

The convention here, highlighted in red, is also a hierarchy (Global --> Project --> Corridor) in the same way as in the Road template.

In this example, a side slope Fixed 10ft Offset file has been transferred from the global library into the corridor, highlighted in blue.

The side slope can be modified using the now-populated spreadsheet either by changing the element type (highlighted in green) or its numerical values, etc.

Note: In this example, the fixed offset side slope is set Relative to Previous. This means the last element along the template selected from the Road tab (i.e., the hinge point) is the point at which the side slope will be applied.

Assigning templates and side slope - cross section view

With the road template and side slopes selected and copied to the corridor, navigate to Corridor > Create/Edit Templates.

A spreadsheet will open at the bottom of the survey view.

To populate it, as shown highlighted in red, select the section to be added (Road, Left Side, Right Side) and the station you want them to be applied.

This will now dynamically update the spreadsheet (green), the cross section view (red arrow), and the surface in the survey view (blue).

Any changes made in the spreadsheet or the selection tool will automatically update both graphical views.
