MAGNET Office: Corridors (part 2 of 6) - Alignments and alignment editor

Alignment editor - horizontal alignments

The Corridor alignment editor has a similar yet more comprehensive look and feel as the manual road entry.

Alignments can be created from strings or linework and will populate the spreadsheet accordingly.

Geometery properties can also be edited, as highlighted in the example (Straight, Arc, etc).

Any changes made will automatically update the graphics.

Alignment editor - station equations

If required, a user can run a Station Equation calculation on the alignment data to update its properties as desired.

This can also be done from multiple alignments as long as they are registered within the Corridor list.

Alignment editor - vertical alignments

The vertical alignment editor also has a similar yet more comprehensive look and feel as the manual road entry.

Alignments can be created from strings or imported and will populate the spreadsheet accordingly.

Geometery properties can also be edited, as highlighted in the example (IP Definition, Vertical Curve Type, etc).

Any changes made will automatically update the graphics.

Updated vertical alignments can also be assigned to existing strings within the project that may only be 2D.

Alignment editor - create new

By selecting Create new vertical alignment, a duplicate of the alignment can be made and edited accordingly. This saves time if small modifications are required, such as updating a vertical without changing the properties of the original vertical alignment.
