Installing the Vuzix Companion App
Installing apps on the smart glasses is done from the Vuzix Companion App on a linked smartphone.
- Install the Vuzix Companion App on your Andriod device. The app is available in the Google Play Store.
- Create an account for the Vuzix App Store. Either inside the app, or on the Vuzix website.
- This account will be used in a later step to install Magnet Vision.
Synchronizing the Vuzix Blade with the Android device
Before apps can be installed on the smart glasses, the smart glasses need to be paired with the Android device.
- Launch the Vuzix Companion App on the Android device.
- Press the "Start Setup" button on the bottom. When asked for Bluetooth permission, press "allow".
- A QR code should appear.
- On the smart glasses, use the touch pad on the right to go to "Settings" then "Connectivity" and select "Companion Link"
- The camera on the glasses will be activated, use the camera to scan the QR code.
- A pop up will apear on both devices, select "pair".
The glasses are now linked to the phone. To complete the process follow the last steps and give the device a name.
Installing Magnet Vision
Once the Android device and the smart glasses are paired Magnet Vision can be installed through the Vuzix App store.
- In the Vuzix Companion App on your Android device go to "Settings" then "Vuzix App Account"
- Log in using the account created in the first step of this article
- Go to the "Store" tab
- Search for "Magnet" in the search box
- Click "Install" to install MAGNET Vision
If the app is already installed, but needs to be updated the same procedure can be used. The install button will show "update" if there's an update available.
