HiPer V: Loading auxiliary firmware

To load auxiliary or power board firmware onto a HiPer V, you will need the following:

  • SD card no larger than 32GB
  • Auxiliary firmware file from MyTopcon
  • HiPer V receiver

Formatting the SD Card

First, the SD card needs to be formatted with the proper folder structure to load firmware.

To do this, remove the battery cover and battery from the receiver. The SD card should be inserted into the receiver as shown at right.

Reinsert the battery and power on the receiver.

Once the receiver has booted up, hold down the green Power button until you hear Factory Reset. The receiver will now reboot.

It may take slightly longer for the receiver to power back up. At this point, it is now formatting and creating the folder structure on the SD card.

Once the receiver reboots, power it down and remove the SD card.

Copying the firmware

Insert the formatted SD card into your laptop or PC.

Go to MyTopcon and download the auxiliary firmware for the HiPer V receiver.

Copy the auxiliary firmware file (e.g., acpu.sbc) into the Firmware folder on the SD card.

Remove the SD card from the computer and reinsert it in the HiPer V.

Loading the firmware

With the SD card inserted in the receiver, power it on again.

Once the receiver has booted up, hold down the green Power button until you hear Factory Reset. The receiver will now reboot.

When the receiver restarts, it will load the auxiliary firmware. This process should take 30-60 seconds.

When the receiver says Receiver Ready, the firmware loading is complete. The SD card can now be removed from the receiver.
