Understanding the Windows keyboard settings and options
There are several settings and options related to the on-screen keyboard in the full Microsoft Windows 10 Pro operating system on the FC-5000 and FC-6000 controllers.
If the on-screen keyboard will not appear at the Windows login screen even after tapping on a field, an automated Windows update may be in the process of installing. Keyboard response is slow
If the on-screen keyboard is slow to respond to taps, disabling Show text suggestions as I type and/or other similar options may help. You can find this by going to Start > Settings > Devices > Typing.
By default, the ESC hardware button is set to pull up the on-screen keyboard when pressed. This setting can be viewed and changed in the custom Keypad settings utility.
Keyboard launch icon located in system tray
A keyboard launch icon may appear in the bottom-right system tray. If this icon is not visible, tap and hold anywhere on the system tray (such as on the date and time), then select Show touch keyboard button from the menu which appears.
You may also or alternatively need to go to Start > Settings > Devices > Typing, then enable the Show the touch keyboard when not in tablet mode and there's no keyboard attached option. Other options are also available in this screen, such as a full keyboard. Additional options are available in the Start > Settings > Ease of Access > Keyboard screen as well.
Text fields appear to be too small
If some text fields appear to be too small, such as for tapping on to bring up the on-screen keyboard, you may want to try adjusting the display scaling.
To adjust the scaling, go to Start > Settings > System > Display > Scale and layout.
Windows keyboard and the MAGNET virtual keyboard
