This article explains troubleshooting a connection to a Bluetooth GPS receiver or other SPP (Serial Port Profile) device in Microsoft Windows 10 such as on the FC-5000 and FC-6000 field controllers.
Hard reset
Perform a hard reset by first doing a shut down, then hold the hardware power button for 20 seconds. Release, then wait a few seconds. Attach a wall charger, and then briefly press the power button again.
Delete existing pairing and repair to device
Remove the existing pairing, and create a new pairing to the Bluetooth device.
This is done via Start > Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices. You may also need to go further to remove any existing outgoing ports (if there are any) from under More Bluetooth options > COM Ports tab.
Under Ports (COM & LPT) in Device Manager, tap and hold on the device to try to Disable device (then Enable device), Update driver, or Uninstall device.
You can select Scan for hardware changes to reinstall the device.

Is there a passkey set?
Verify that you are using the correct passkey with the Bluetooth device. Topcon does not set a default passkey, but a passkey can be created by the user.
Many GPS receivers and other instruments use a basic passkey such as 0000.
Update Bluetooth drivers
Reinstall or update the Bluetooth drivers.
Drivers can be found in the Firmware & Software Updates section of any device's myTopcon product page.

Test other equipment to isolate the problem
Doing these things could help determine if the problem is with a specific device or software:
- Connect and test other similar Bluetooth devices.
- Connect the Bluetooth device to other Windows 10 computers.
- Connect to other software applications.
Factory reset
If possible, back up your apps and data, then perform a Set Factory Defaults (Clean Boot) by navigating to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > Reset this PC. Follow the instructions displayed on the controller.
