3D-MC: RD-MC - Sensor Angle Compensation

  • Sensor angle compensation is a factor of how a tow point responds to sensor placement
  • It is used during large grade corrections during the paving process
  • The compensation value is based on the ratio between sensor movement and cylinder movement
  • It is related to the sensor distance from the towpoint
  • Cylinder movement devided by sensor movement equals percent value
  • To set the value select the <Screed> option from the <Control> menu
  • The Screed options menu will open
  • select < Sensor Angle Comp.>
  • Calculate the copensation value
  • Devide the cylinder travel distance by the sensor travel distance
  • Enter the percentage into the field as a whole number
  • Select <OK> to confirm
  • The Value of the setting is not displayed on the main screen
  • 25 is the default
  • It is best to leave set to default if the correct value is uncertain
