Auto-topo menu
In the Survey menu, select Auto-topo, and view the available options:
- By distance...
- By time...
- By elevation...
- Polyline...

Auto-topo by distance
- Enter the interval at which Pocket 3D will automatically take a topo shot.
- Select whether you want to measure from the last Auto-topo shot, or to the last shot taken manually while in Auto-topo.
- Select or create the layer where the shots will be stored.
- Add a point description, if desired.
- Select whether you want to assign point numbers, and choose a starting number.
- Clicking the Start button will take the first shot at your current location.

Auto-topo by time
- Enter your desired time interval. Shots will still be recorded if you are stationary.
- Select or create the layer where the Auto-topo shots will be stored.
- Add a point description, if desired.
- Select whether you want to assign point numbers, and choose a starting number.
- Clicking the Start button will take the first shot at your current location.

Auto-topo by elevation
- Enter your desired elevation interval.
- Select whether you want to measure from the last Auto-topo shot, or to the last shot taken manually while in Auto-topo.
- Select or create the layer where the Auto-topo shots will be stored.
- Add a point description, if desired.
- Select whether you want to assign point numbers, and choose a starting number.
- Clicking the Start button will take the first shot at your current location.

Using Auto-topo to create a polyline
- Select the minimum distance that the vertices of the polyline will be measured. In this case, distance is the only collection option.
- Select or create the layer where the Auto-topo shots will be stored.
- Clicking the Start button will take the first shot at your current location.
Note: Points are not being collected as the polyline is being created. If desired, points can be created later using Data > Calc wizard > Convert polyline to points.

Stop Auto-topo
If the Auto-topo survey was collected by distance, time, or elevation, it can be ended by going to the Survey menu and clicking Stop auto-topo.

End polyline
To end an Auto-topo polyline, go to the Survey menu, select Measure pts, then End polyline.
