Phase center vs antenna reference point
Certain jobsites with mixed fleets of field softare may warrent the need to set the antenna offset to zero for the job's base station receiver. MAGNET Field measures base corrections based on the antenna reference point of a receiver. When setting this value to zero, you are eliminating this antenna reference measurement and are now getting all your corrections from the phase center mark on the receiver.
This is helpful when potentially a receiver on the jobsite does not recognize the antenna reference point of a given base receiver on a jobsite. This can happen if an older receiver acting as a rover does not recognize the antenna profile of a newer receiver that is running as a base.
To set antenna offset to zero in MAGNET Field for the base receiver, follow the steps listed below.
From the Main menu of MAGNET Field, select Configure.
Select Survey to configure the survey settings for the given job.
Click Select from library, and then Edit the equipment profile to begin the desired configuration for the GNSS configuration.
Click Next until you get to the Base Receiver menu.
Click the Ant Height button, and select Edit.
Select Transmit as if zero offset antenna.
Select Use relative calibrations.
Once the option is set for the base receiver, the user can now exit the survey configuration and start the base station in MAGNET Field. This will then transmit the information to the base station to transmit with the zero antenna offset.
