Disable then enable device

You can select Device Manager for viewing Network Adapters by tapping and holding the Windows Explorer button (bottom-left Windows logo button).

Tap and hold on Broadcom 802.11ac Wireless PCIE Full Dongle Adapter in order to select Disable device and then Enable device.

Note: After each of the listed instructions, test and check if the problem is resolved. If the problem persists, continue to the next set of instructions.

A hard reset may help

Turn the unit off:

  1. Tap the Windows Explorer button.
  2. Go to Start > Power > Shutdown.
  3. Wait until this completes fully and the red LED is off.

Reset the controller:

  1. Hold down the Power button for 20 seconds.
  2. Release and wait 3 seconds.
  3. Connect to external power using the wall charger included with the controller.
  4. Press the Power button, and wait for the unit to boot up.

Verify Wi-Fi is functioning.

Roll back the driver

Go to Device Manager > Network adapters.

Double tap on Broadcom 802.11ac Wireless PCIE Full Dongle Adapter to open the Driver tab.

Tap Roll Back Driver.

Update: July 30, 2020 - Microsoft has removed the incorrect driver from the Windows Update service, so it should no longer attempt to load.

Uninstall and reload drivers

Open the Device Manager.

Tap Network Adapter, then tap and hold on the Broadcom 802.11ac Wireless PCIE Full Dongle Adapter. Select Uninstall device.

Once completed, open the Action tab in the Device Manager to select Scan for hardware changes to see if the device is detected and the drivers reloaded properly.

If it is still not working, repeat these steps, this time checking the box to Delete the driver software for this device, then confirm to Uninstall.

Perform a Start > Power > Restart to restore the original functional driver. You may need to have an alternative internet connection while performing these steps.

Using USB

If needed, a USB flash drive can be used to copy the BCM-4324.zip file (at the bottom of this article) to the FC-6000.

You must then extract the ZIP file and do the following:

  1. Go to Device Manager > Network adapters.
  2. Right-click on Broadcom 802.11ac Network Adapter, and select Update driver.
  3. Click Browse my computer for driver software.
  4. Click Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer.
  5. Click the Have Disk... button.  
  6. Click Browse… and go to the folder containing the drivers.
  7. Select the extracted bcmwdidhdpcie.inf file, tap Open, then OK.

The correct model “Broadcom 802.11ac Wireless PCIE Full Dongle Adapter” will now be shown.

Tap Next.

When loading is complete, tap Close.

Wi-Fi should now be restored.
