Digital Workflow Steps
We begin by creating a 3D map of existing topographic information, including greens, tees, bunkers, irrigation, and cart path features necessary for the architect to understand the current design. Digital data from UAV, GPS and scanner technology are used to create a 3D digital terrain model with contours and point/line features.
During this phase, the architect reviews the as-built information and starts the redesign process. CAD software utilizes the collected 3D data to redesign the course with high precision. This new design is sent to the project for design execution.
On-board information gives the operator an overview of the design. Crews have greater visibility of the project, achieving smooth, accurate grade in fewer passes with no rework, reducing labor cost and time.
Using the same technology and workflow used in the initial data acquisition of the old course, digital data is collected to create a final deliverable showcasing the new course.
