X-53x Automatic Excavator: Calibrating a bucket in 3D-MC v15.0.33

In the latest released version of 3D-MC v15.0.33, a new method of bucket calibration was introduced.

Buckets can still be added and calibrated in the 3D-MC environment.

Navigate to Calibrate > Attachment > Add.

The Attachments window will appear. Tap New to create a new bucket.

Excavator attachment setup

You have to enter Width and Length of the bucket, where the bucket length is measured from the bucket pivot to the bucket cutting edge.

You have to enter the bucket Weight.

If the excavator is equipped with the quick-couple or a thumb, this additional weight should NOT be added to the bucket weight.

Attachment radius

You have to enter the Base Length and Base Radius.

It is important to determine the center of the base radius. It is determined by the perpendicular offset from the point where the base length ends. Base radius should cover the whole bucket back.

Calibrate attachment angle

You have to calibrate the Deviation from vertical.

When the bucket pivot and bucket cutting edge are vertically aligned, press Calibrate.

You can use a plumb bob to determine the deviation from vertical.

Calibrate bucket base

You have to calibrate the Bucket Base.

The bottom of the bucket has to lay flat on the ground. Press Calibrate.

You can use the water level to determine the bucket base.

All the measurements have to be taken with caution and high precision.

The most important and critical measurements are Deviation from Vertical and Bucket Base angle. They will ensure correct position in indicate mode and performance in automatic mode.
