RD-MC milling: 3D-MC settings when milling a crown road

This is a cross section of a crown road.

The EGL is based on the RD-M1 scan.

Design DTM

The milling drum width exceeds the width of half the road.

The milling drum extends over the crown.

For the edge of the road, use 3D-MC depth control (side blade of the milling machine).

For the crown side of the road, use 3D-MC 3D slope from the DTM.

Make sure the side blade is inside both DTMs to avoid being “out of design.”

In 3D-MC, navigate to Control > Cutting Head Control.

Set Control using single pt on cutting head to the middle of the milling drum.

Set the Cutting Head Control point in the middle of the milling drum.

3D slope is picked up from the DTM at the position of the blue triangle.
