Pocket 3D: Installation on Windows Mobile 6 Devices

This guide explains the installation process for Windows Mobile 6 devices such as the FC-500, SHC-500, Tesla, and T-18 Field controllers.

Pocket 3D: Installation on Windows Mobile 6 Devices

Installing on FC-500, SHC-500, Tesla, & T-18 Field controllers

  • Download the Windows Mobile Device installer for Pocket 3D from MyTopcon. 
  • Go to your downloads folder, unzip the installer by right clicking on the zip file and clicking "extract here".
  • Open up Windows Mobile Device Center. Connect the data collector to the PC through a Micro USB to USB connector. If the device does not connect automatically, please refer to the articles on Windows Mobile Device Center for installation and troubleshooting.
  • Select "Connect without setting up your device".
  • Under "File Management" select "Browse the contents of your device". Navigate to the downloaded zip file. Copy (Ctrl+C) the Pocket 3D installer onto the data collector.
  • Right click on the Pocket 3D installer and select "Run as administrator". 
  • Follow the instructions on the screen. Click the "Install" button to install. 
  • If you already have Pocket 3D installed, you will get this message. Click "yes" to re-install/upgrade.
  • Upon seeing this message, check your device screen for any additional messages. You should see an "Installing" message on your data collector.
  • Click "Ok" to continue with the installation.
  • After a successful instalation, the following message should appear.
  • Click "finish" to complete the installation.
