SRU/TRU offer the ability to automatically generate and store RINEX files along with the *.TPS files.
This feature is limited to the HiPer HR and NET-G5 receivers only.
This function requires the receiver to have a network connection via Wi-Fi or wired so that it can be addressed by its IP address.
These files can be stored on the receiver or pushed to an FTP site.
Connect to the receiver in Receiver Managing mode. Navigate to Device > Application Mode > Receiver Managing.
Go to Device > Connect. In the Connect Using drop-down menu, select Serial Port or USB.
Click on Port Name, and the ports that are available for connection are shown. Select the port that you want to use.
Click Connect.
To set up the network connection, click Receiver Settings. Click Network Settings.
Determine how the network connection will be made: wire or Wi-Fi. This demonstration is for Wi-Fi.
Select the Wi-Fi tab.
- Select Client from the Mode drop-down menu.
- Enter the SSID of your Wi-Fi network.
- Enter the Password for your Wi-Fi network.
- Press OK at the top of the Network screen.
There are two ways to check that the network connection is configured correctly.
First method: Connecting in TRU with a network connection:
- Click the back arrow.
- Go to Device > Disconnect.
- Go to Device > Connect.
- Select Network (TCP).
- Click the three dots next to Device Name.
- Select the receiver, and click OK.
- Click Connect.
Second method: Opening the files in Windows Explorer:
- Click Back.
- Click File Explorer
- In the Files tab, right-click anywhere on the screen.
- Click Open in Windows Explorer, and select a.
The file structure of the receiver will open in Windows Explorer.
Notice the file structure on the receiver. It shows the IP address of the receiver along with the path.
To configure the RINEX output on the receiver, go to the RINEX tab on the File Explorer window in TRU.
Check Enable to enable the creation of the RINEX files when the logging of a file stops.
Check SNR Observation if this information is needed in the RINEX file.
Check Smooth Pseudoranges if this information is needed in the RINEX file.
Check Hatanaka Compression if this form of file compression is desired.
Select the desired degree of Zip Compression.
Input a directory name. Typing /rinex will put the files at the same level as the log files. Note that these will not be visible in TRU until you view the files in Windows Explorer.
You can have the receiver push the files to an FTP site if you set up the FTP Folder. Press the button at the end of the FTP Folder box to configure the FTP site.
Input the FTP site's IP address in the IP Address field.
Enter the Login and Password of the FTP account.
Next, configure the RINEX Header information for the output file:
- Country
- Agency: Who is doing the observations
- Observer: Name or initials
- Marker Name: Name of the equipment manufacturer
- Marker Number: Serial number of the equipment
- Antenna Number: If using an internal antenna, use the serial number of the receiver. If using an external antenna, use the serial number of the antenna.
Check Enable V.3 File Naming if that is the format of the file naming desired.
Conversion Status options:
- Off: No conversion will occur
- Pending: Waiting on file logging to stop
- Running: Actively creating RINEX files
In the Logs tab, right-click on Log A, and select Edit.
- Enter the Elevation Mask that is required for the observations.
- Set the Prefix for the file name.
- Set the Logging Period in seconds.
- Set the file Rotation Period. (18,000 seconds = 5 hours) This is selectable in 1 hour increments.
- Determine the Message Set.
- Determine the RINEX Version file format.
- Check Use for MINTER and ARFM.
- Click OK.
When files are logged and stopped, the receiver will write a RINEX file to the rinex directory if the power is left on long enough to complete the task.
To find your RINEX files, connect to the receiver in Receiver Managing mode.
Click File Explorer.
Right-click, and go to Open in Windows Explorer > a.
You will then need to navigate to the location of the RINEX files as outlined in red below.
