MAGNET Modeler for Autodesk: Importing IFC data

The IFC plugin is used to import IFC data into a MAGNET Modeler model. The plugin can be accessed via the IFC icon.

Double-click the IFC icon, or right-click it and select insert to add a new IFC file. The IFCPlugin dialog box opens, and you can select a file to import.

In the dialog box, you can change the Main group name and filter sub group by different attributes (Object Type, Part Type, Description, Layer, Color, etc.). You can select a material for subgroups.

This dialog box also has a context sensitive menu. With it, you can check or uncheck whole columns and set the same material for multiple rows. This is done by setting a value for one row, selecting multiple rows, and from the context sensitive menu, selecting Set same material.

Only groups marked as Selected are brought into MAGNET Modeler.

The error button changes to red if there are errors in the IFC file or if it has items that are not supported. Rows can be moved by selecting a row and pressing the up or down arrows.

You can specify origo, rotation, and scale.

If you have added an IFC file to MAGNET Modeler, it is shown in the user interface. You can edit settings by double-clicking an item or right-clicking it and selecting settings

An item can be deleted by clicking it and pressing the delete key, or by right-clicking it and selecting remove.
