Background

The currently released version of 3D-MC (12.1.436) does not illuminate AUTO while automatics are activated in 3D-MC on CAN Roadtec milling machines using the ACE system.

This has led to confusion on whether or not the automatics are working/receiving CAN signals on these machines.

Solution

To quickly verify that the Roadtec CAN system is communicating with 3D-MC, place the machine into 2D Mode.

This is accomplished by pressing the Topcon icon  in the upper right corner of 3D-MC and navigating to Control > 3D/2D Control.

In the 2D 3D Mode screen, make sure both 2D Elevation options are selected. Click Ok.

You can now activate automatics and see if 3D-MC displays that automatics are engaged or not.
