DIT honors ‘outstanding leader in international business and innovation’
The Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) recently conferred the award of Honorary Doctorate on Ireland native Ray O’Connor, president and CEO of Topcon Positioning Systems (TPS), a global leader in precision measurement instruments.
Topcon Positioning Systems (TPS), in cooperation with the Vatican and Pope Benedict XVI, is developing a global agriculture initiative – Person and Technological Innovation.
The program is designed to introduce young people in developing countries to technologies and applications of precise positioning in the global agriculture markets. Initial training will be conducted at the Topcon training facilities in Concordia (Modena), Italy.
Countries targeted for the first projects will be Cameroon, Ethiopia and Ghana.
Tim Weyland, a human resource (HR) executive with more than 20 years of experience at various companies, has been named vice president of human resources for Topcon America Corporation.
In that position he will be responsible for Topcon Positioning Systems headquartered in California and Topcon Medical Services, headquartered in New Jersey.
Topcon Positioning Systems (TPS) has launched the second annual ‘How do you Topcon?’ video contest with the slogan, “However and whenever you Topcon, we want to see it!”
The contest includes four categories:
-- Most innovative or creative use of Topcon equipment;
-- Funniest video or infomercial;

Topcon Positioning Systems (TPS) has released the Tesla RTK, a GNSS network RTK rover system integrated into the recently introduced cross-over tablet controller, the Topcon Tesla™. The new rover is designed to combine the power of network RTK with the benefit of a larger, tablet-sized screen.
