For Topcon Positioning Systems (TPS), located in Livermore, California, a subsidiary of Topcon Corporation headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, the amount of work needed for Japan to recover from the March 11, 2011 earthquake and ensuing tsunami disaster was fully realized by a group of employees who volunteered to help in cleanup efforts.
Twelve TPS employees, including Mick Yamazaki, chief operating officer, spent three days cleaning up debris in an area of the Tohoku (northeast) district of Japan.
