Topcon Policy on Environmental Friendliness

Topcon Positioning Systems, Inc. (“TPS”) is dedicated to protecting our environment, complying with all applicable regulatory laws and regulations, and following its own internal policies for environmental protection (including the restriction of hazardous materials in our products).

The Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (RoHs) Directive was passed into law by the European Union, effective July 1, 2006.  It defines a group of six compounds as restricted hazardous substances in electronic equipment.  These are: lead, mercury, cadmium hexavalent, chromium cr, polybrominated biphenyls and polybrominated diphenyl ethers.  TPS has been actively working to comply with RoHS.  TPS believes that as of July 1, 2006, its products which are put on the market in the European Union meet the applicable requirements of RoHs in those jurisdictions which have adopted RoHS or a version thereof.
